35 Unique Jimmy Katz Prints for Collectors

Herman Leonard once called Jimmy Katz 'the best working photographer on earth. And if you look at the photos in the book Jazz Katz or 70 Years Blue Note Photography you will immediately agree with the late Herman Leonard. Not only do Katz's photographs of jazz  belong to the best music photos ever made, you might even say he's one of the best portrait photographers in the world.

In July and August 2014 Music Inspired Art will host an exhibition of Jimmy Katz jazz photos in the old castle of Woerden in the Netherlands. It's a spin-off of the yearly North Sea Jazz Festival Art Show. With the help of Epson and the Hans van Ommeren Foundation 35 of the best jazz portraits will be printed on the best archieval paper, using the best Epson inks, and on a size that has not been used for Jimmy's photos. These prints will come in an edition of just one and will be signed by the photographer.

This will result in an unique exhibition with an opportunity for photo collectors around the globe. The prints will be for sale at a special prices ranging from 900 to 2,900 euros. It gives collectors a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire edition 1 prints, printed to the highest standards by master printer Hans van Ommeren.

Jimmy Katz will be present at the opening of the show on July 5 in Woerden. Ruud Visschedijk, director of the Dutch Photo Museum in Rotterdam will open the exhibition. The exhibition will run till September 15th.
